How Much Did Harry Really Inherit?

When Harry Potter was growing up, he was used to hand-me-downs and not having a lot of money. So when young Harry turns eleven and eventually discovers that his parents left him with a large inheritance. As we follow Harry through his years at Hogwarts, we see Harry having plenty of money to purchase his school supplies and everything that he needs to get through his years at school.

Young Harry even has money to spend money on things that he wants and he even has enough money to spend money on other things. In the movies, we see Harry spending money on his friends, social events, and basically anything that he wants. That leaves many fans wondering this: how much money is in Harry Potter's vault at Gringott's?

One genius Potterhead went through the trouble of trying to calculate at least the bare minimum of what Harry's galleons could have costed in American dollars. If this gives you any idea of how much money Harry has: When Harry won the Triwizard Tournament, he won about 1000 galleons. In American money, that's about $25, 000. Harry lent the twins $25, 000 to start their joke shop.

A Reddit user called NeokratosRed used their impressive mathematical skills to calculate that there's a bare minimum of 50, 625 galleons in Harry's vault. Since we know that each galleon is worth $25, so the minimum amount of money in Harry's vault is is $1, 265, 625.
